Family Finding Service
This service is part of the Core Childcare Permanency Services and Core aims to ensure all local authorities have access to our carer vacancies throughout the UK.
We appreciate that the family finding task can be complex and time consuming for local authorities and here we can offer assistance. We have a dedicated long term fostering manager and administrator who co-ordinate this service.
Using the search criteria provided by the local authority, Core conducts a search (keeping the child/young persons identity confidential) and collates the responses on potential carers. We then share carer profiles with the local authority and in some cases 'Welcome Booklets' that the carers like to share with children and young people.
Carers
We have over 2000 carers across a range of ethnic groups and social backgrounds, many of which are experienced carers. We also have a range of newly approved carers who bring with them many skills relevant to the fostering task. All our carers attend training and those approved for 'Long Term Foster Care' are dedicated and committed to this task.
Core has access to 80 offices across the UK where we can access and recruit much needed carers.
Stability
Stability is high on everyone's agenda. We offer exceptional stability statistics, with 84% of all children and young people placed with FCA for more than 2 1/2 years being in their current placement for more than 2 of those years.
This experience and track record is being brought to bear through Core's Family Finding Service and can include child specific recruitment. At Core we know that permanency can come in different forms and we ensure that our carers are fully informed to help them make the right decisions to enable us to provide the right solution for your child.
