Core Education Services

Core Education supports local authorities, schools and other agencies as they strive to meet the needs of their most challenging and vulnerable children and young people.

We provide a range of services to help you meet the expectations of the Government agenda around school inclusion, delivered through our network of highly experienced teachers and learning mentors.

Supporting Vulnerable Learners

We can help young people who are experiencing difficulties at school to address behavioural issues and improve attainment levels. We also provide tailor made interventions to help those young people who are currently out of school or at risk of exclusion. We can achieve these outcomes through:

• Integrated Support Packages
  (range of 'in house' and 'off site' support tailored to meet individual needs)
• Personalised tutoring
  (for those young people who need individual support to meet their potential, or for those finding it difficult to manage group situations)
• Personal Education Allowance interventions for Looked After Children
  (range of options available including tutoring, educational visits and group activities including art and drama workshops)

Ensuring Educational Provision

For those young people with additional needs who need to find a new school or access an alternative educational provision, we can help you to negotiate your way through the legislation to establish an appropriate school place.

• Telephone based guidance
• Case work to help secure educational provision
• Specific intervention for problematic cases

Understanding Their Needs

We can enable your staff to understand the key issues and challenges involved in supporting the learning and emotional needs of vulnerable children and young people, including behaviour and attainment, legal rights and responsibilities and understanding the difficulties that young people with attachment issues may present.

Events can be tailored to suit your needs:

• Specialist training courses for your own or combined groups of staff
• Conferences and seminars run by us or in collaboration with you
• Guest speaking on relevant topics to add value and interest to events
